In recent years, Hooker Furniture has added to its lines by the acquisition of two major players in the furniture manufacturing arena—Bradington-Young, a North Carolina based company specializing in upscale leather seating, and Sam Moore Furniture, a Virginia-based company that provides many custom chair designs.
Hooker Furniture also imports dining room, living room, bedroom, office, entertainment, and accent furniture from a network of companies throughout the world. All furnishings are designed by Hooker Furniture, and must meet Hooker’s strict quality standards before shipping to any customer.
There are three main collections at Hooker Furniture. Preston Ridge combines 18th-century designs with luxurious hardwoods and veneers, such as cherry, mahogany, and white ash burl. Pieces are finished in a black rub-through with gold-tone accents, making this sophisticated collection both classic and stylish.
The Waverly Place Collection at Hooker Furniture has a marked European Country flavor with its darkly rich cherry veneer and random width plank design, carefully chosen to give the impression of age and gentle use. Charming and grand in design, these pieces are none the less designed for today’s modern home and scaled to fit any environment.
Casablanca is another collection at Hooker Furniture which has been inspired by Olde World style and design. However, this collection has a distinctive flair for the dramatic with Mediterranean and Moroccan influences. Crafted in birch solids and pin knotty veneers, covered with an espresso finish enhanced with physical distressing, and the addition of fine carving details and decorative pulls, this collection is sure to be pleasing to the eye of any fine furniture collector.
