Kincaid Furniture Company, Inc., a La-Z-Boy company since 1987, was the dream of Wade Kincaid, a young man who had cut his teeth in the furniture manufacturing business at the tender age of 14. By 1946, Kincaid had saved enough money, and enlisting the help of his father and sister, opened the doors to Kincaid Furniture Company.

Kincaid Furniture started out making cedar chest and wardrobes, and quickly opened its line to include bedroom and dining room furniture. In order to better serve the customer, Kincaid was also the first US furniture manufacturer to invest in its own fleet of delivery trucks.

Kincaid Furniture Company is known world-wide as a manufacturer of high-quality solid wood furniture. Again, in an attempt to grow an already successful line, Kincaid purchased Alexvale Furniture Company in 1999. This added new options for Kincaid customers wishing to purchase upholstered furniture. The following year, Kincaid was able to incorporate the new products into the hugely successful Laura Ashley Home Collection.
